fall favs // top three favorite outfits

I love me some New England Fall weather!! I’ve been on Pinterest looking for outfit inspiration and I wanted to share my top three favorite fall outfits!

LOOK #1 // blanket scarf + vest

details

blanket scarf // Charlotte Russe (similar one)

vest // Lands End (they no longer have it! But check their vests out here)

sweater // TjMaxx (similar one)

jeans // Gap Factory

booties // Old Navy

bag // American Eagle (all out but here is a similar bag!)

Who doesn’t love a big cozy blanket scarf?! I’ll admit, this was a complete impulse buy, but I love it! The colors are not only perfect for fall, but pretty much the color scheme of my wardrobe in general. The ivory sweater is a cable knit sweater from TjMaxx; the perfect staple. My down vest has lasted me the past couple of years, so not only is it warm, it’s durable! And I wear a lot of neutrals, so brown matches everything. My jeans and boots are from Old Navy, where I’d say about 60% of my clothes are from. They never disappoint! Lastly, my bag is from American Eagle. I love it because it is a mix of black and brown leather, and has a cute design. A little different than your typical oversized leather purse.

LOOK #2 // fur vest

vest // Forever 21 (similar one)

black tee // Banana Republic (similar one)

jeans // Old Navy

booties // Old Navy

bag // Target (similar one)

While my vest and black tee are from those stores listed above, I actually bought them at Plato’s Closet in Dedham, MA. I paid only $10 for the vest and $14 for the tee! I love the fur vest because it is a statement piece all on its own. And who couldn’t use a black long sleeve tee in their closet. My jeans are the perfect dark wash skinny, and the booties are the same as the first outfit.

LOOK #3 // green jacket + bean boots

img_1049

details

jacket // J.Crew

sweater // Tjmaxx (similar one)

jeans // Gap Factory

boots // Tjmaxx (similar one)

watch // Target

I am obsessed with this J.Crew field jacket!! Not only my favorite color, but I love the gold details. I paired it with my favorite cable knit sweater and jeans (same as in look #1) and my (fake) bean boots from Tjmaxx! Classic New England look for sure. My watch matches pretty much everything in my wardrobe due to the greenish beige wristband and rose gold face.

There you have it friends! My top three favorite fall outfits that consist of neutrals + classic New England style. As you can tell, I do a lot of shopping at Old Navy, Tjmaxx, Target and J. Crew. I’m all about being stylish but without spending an arm and a leg.

I hope you all had a wonderful holiday weekend!

{OOTD} cropped & high rise

I am LOVING my new jeggings from AE. They are the high waisted dark wash jegging. I originally went in to try their new sky high jegging but I thought the threading and zipper were awkwardly too long, so I opted for the regular high rise jegging. There’s not much of a difference, other than where it hits at the waist (and the length of the zipper). The sky high reached just below my belly button, and the ones I bought hit a little lower. They are also the most comfortable pants I have ever owned. So everyone needs to go out and buy a pair NOW. (I might be a little biased, because I really only buy my jeans from American Eagle, but regardless…GO BUY SOME!) I also love my cropped gold and pink strip tee from Aerie. I got it for only┬á$10 too! And brown leather sandals are a must in any wardrobe because they legit go with everything. I love these ones because they have gold buckles and I’m a big fan of gold čÖé

jeggings // American Eagle

top // Aerie

sandals // Marshalls

watch // American Eagle

bracelets // Alex + Ani

Also, can we just take a moment to acknowledge how cool this background is?! The photographer in me was freaking out inside when my friend and I found it the other day. It’s a brick wall with chalk on the side of an elementary school. Definitely coming back to it in the future!

Photo creds to my friend Natalie who also has an awesome food/fitness blog! She’s got great tips and ideas and a good sense of humor, all on top of being a great photographer. Check out and follow her blog at Be Happy Be Healthy Be Free┬áčÖé

Liebster Award!

So Amanda┬áover at Brunette With a Bow (go check her out!) nominated me for a Liebster Award! For those who do not know what this is (I had no idea either) it’s basically a way to find new blogs and help promote bloggers who have a small following. From what I gather (and this varies from blog to blog but I’m following Amanda’s example), you post 7 facts about you, answer the 7 questions the blogger who nominated you asked, tag other bloggers (with usually less than 100 followers), and post 7 of your own questions for those bloggers. It’s kinda like a chain email, but it doesn’t guilt trip you into thinking you’ll die if you don’t do it! Plus, it’s always fun to find new blogs to follow. So without further ado…

1} I love Pinterest. Is that a surprise? Nope.

2} I’ve never dyed my hair. I used to be blonde when I was little, so I have natural blonde highlights, and I’m afraid I won’t get them back if I dye my hair!

3} I’m an aspiring photographer &┬ástarted a small side business last summer. Check out my fb page!

4} This is my lucky number. I’m also obsessed with Divergent (hehe get it?! čśë )

5} I have always had a strange obsession with Tennessee and frogs.

6} Starbucks = love

7} I don’t know what I would do without my faith. It’s the most important thing in my life and it defines me.

1} What inspired you to start blogging?
Same as Amanda, I love watching fashion vids on youtube and always wanted to do something like that, but didn’t really have the guts to do it. I’m not really one to be on the other side of the camera anyways. Meghan Rienks┬áis my absolute favorite youtube guru. Pinterest also led me to other fashion & craft blogs and I thought to myself, hey I could do that! So one day I just made one. I made this little journal dedicated to blog ideas too, so that helps me brainstorm ideas.
2} What is your dream job?
I’ve always said that if I could be a photographer for World Vision, that would be both amazing and rewarding.
┬áBut let’s be honest…I just want to be Lauren Conrad.┬á
3} What is at the top of your wish list right now?
15072438_201402210942 nashville-tenn-black-white_1_5
This weekender from Target and a Nashville Spirit Jersey.
4} What is your favorite item in your wardrobe?
If accessories count, my cross body from Target for sure. Maybe my nude flats with the little bows on the toes from Forever 21 too.
5} What is your favorite quote?
SO MANY TO CHOOSE FROM. Holy cow. I guess check out my beautiful inspiration board on Pinterest and there are all my fav quotes. But for the purposes of this post:
“All I need today is a little bit of coffee and a whole lot of Jesus”
6} Who are your favorite bloggers?
The girls over at A Beautiful Mess. I wouldn’t mind having their job either. Love love love their blog (and book too! That’s how I found them – was browsing through Urban Outfitters and saw their book. Awesome ideas!)
7} What are you most excited about in the upcoming months?

My sister coming home. Summer nights with friends. Taking classes next semester that I actually want to take. My roommate coming to visit (!!!!!!!!!!!)
